chronicle

‘Chronicle’ was made after a call from the Byzantine Museum of Thessaloniki inviting artists to make artworks inspired by the Museum and the Byzantine culture. The thyme and the title of the exhibition was ‘Our (?) Byzantium’ as an attempt to explore how the past corresponds with the present and how the aesthetic values can express this dynamic.
‘Chronicle’ is a triptych of prints, ‘illustrating’ the three periods of the Byzantine empire; the first years formed as the Roman Empire; the glorious years of the empire with the vivid centre of the empire’s capital and the late years of the empire’s fall.
